Prof. Im Junggi was invited to present lecture on ACTI2015, Taiwan



Jung-Gi Im, MD, PhD, Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital (SKSH), was invited to give lecture on Asian congress of Thoracic imaging (ACTI2015). ACTI2015 hosted by Asian Society of Thoracic Radiology and Chinese Taipei Society of Radiology was held from the 20th to 22nd Mar at Howard Civil Service International House Taipei, Taiwan.

He was invited as ‘Congress Lecturer’ and lectured with a title of ‘Pulmonary nodule management in the era of lung cancer screening CT’ on 21th March in convention hall. He had published over 208 papers in prestigious international journals. He was Dean of the Seoul National University College of Medicine, Korea, and President of the Korean Association of Medical Colleges.

ACTI is one of the leading congress in radiology based on Asia countries. ACTI has been invited eminent experts to provide an ideal platform for professionals, researchers and radiologists to update their knowledge on the latest advancements and breakthroughs in the field of Thoracic Imaging within a cordial environment.

Dr. Sung received ‘The Nokjo-Geunjeong Medal’ from the Korean government


Minister Hyung-Pyo Mun of Ministry of Health & Welfare has presented the Nokjo-Gunjeong Medal to CEO Myung-Whun Sung of Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital in the ceremony of 43rd health day held on April 7. He has received the honor through his contribution to exporting Korean health system.  

‘Geunjeong Medal’ is presented for whom has served with distinction in social development. It is the highest honor for civil servants presented from Korean government. 

The first ‘Breast Cancer Symposium’ of Sheikh Khalifa Specialty hospital in RAK


The first ‘Breast Cancer Symposium’ of Sheikh Khalifa Specialty hospital was presented by Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital (SKSH) in collaboration with Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH), on 6th of Apr.

Breast cancer is the most common invasive cancer in females worldwide. Breast cancer rates are much higher in developed nations compared to developing ones and more common in elderly women.

The symposium focused on not only latest diagnosis but also surgical methodology and rehabilitation. 

Over 50 people in fields of academic research, industrial medicine, and pharmaceutical were attended In the conference, Prof. Dongyoung Noh of SNUH had a special lecture on the topic of ‘Surgical Approach to Breast Cancer’.


Dr. Noh, a seasoned doctor performing more than 1,000 surgeries yearly, is one of the leaders in breast cancer surgery techniques in the world. Also he has adopted an image navigation system for the cancer. He is the most respected breast surgeon in Korea. He has been published 180 articles in international peer-reviewed journal and honored with several International awards and recognitions including Forgarty International Fellowship Award, NIH, USA. 

The ‘Breast Cancer Symposium’ included various topics and discussions covering all the issues such as: Radiological Diagnosis for Breast Cancer, Molecular Imaging of Breast Cancer, Oncoplastic Surgery for Breast Cancer, Adjuvant Chemotherapy for Breast Cancer, Management of Lymphedema in Breast Cancer Survivor, and more.  

Dr. MyungWhun Sung, CEO of SKSH, said, “The conference was great experience to bring their depth of knowledge and to discuss all facet breast cancer in clinical research and treatment. SKSH plans to be held multidisciplinary conference regularly to make more opportunities of activating academia in UAE.”
